"In this secular landscape, Palazzo Meridia rises on ten levels (ground floor+8 with mezzanine) and is part of a global and innovative sustainable approach: enhancement of natural spaces, energy autonomy and control, reversibility of spaces, wooden structure, dry construction site limiting waste. 1,600 m3 of wood were used for this exceptional project, 70% of which was of French origin, and 420 m² of self-consumption photovoltaic panels installed on the roof. The positive energy building is connected to an urban heating network. It is also braced by two concrete elevator shafts, which allows for platforms free of any constraints and whose layout offers maximum freedom. Measuring 6.25 meters on a 1.25 meter base, the grid offers maximum flexibility in uses. The framework of the project is made of glued laminated timber posts and beams and the load-bearing timber floors and facades are made of solid cross laminated timber (CLT) panels.
Its double facade allows for the creation of spinning balconies, creating both outdoor workplaces and gardens. Wood is predominant in the interior design, open and reversible thanks to large trays offering multiple layout possibilities. The metal exoskeleton supports the vertical circulations on the periphery."
