Expertise

Beyond technical knowledge of structures, CBS-CBT benefits from the contribution of new non-destructive wood-testing technologies, such as ultrasound measurements with Sylvatest or densitometry with the Polux device, to assess the residual performance of timber.

CBS-CBT notably acted as an expert for the restoration of the Forbidden City in Beijing as part of the reopening of the Imperial Palace to the public for the 2008 Olympic Games.

CBS-CBT was also consulted for the assessment of the Palais de l’Équilibre at CERN in Geneva. This structure had been dismantled after the 2002 National Exhibition on Swiss lakes and now serves as a showcase building for CERN.
