From July 5 to 12, Jean-Luc Sandoz, PhD EPFL, will be invited by Business France as part of a series of meetings and conferences dedicated to the challenges of timber and the ecological transition.

The program will notably include an official reception on July 8 by the Minister for Foreign Trade, highlighting the strategic importance of these international exchanges.

On July 9, a full day of conferences will bring together a wide audience of engineers, architects, and general contractors around the themes of timber and bio-based construction. July 10 will be dedicated to discussions with an academic and scientific audience, including university representatives and stakeholders from the forestry sector.

Throughout the week, Jean-Luc Sandoz will address key topics such as carbon neutrality, global forest management, timber construction development, timber engineering, and structural expertise, particularly in the field of heritage buildings.

These meetings highlight the central role of wood as a material of the future and the contribution of engineering and expertise to more sustainable and responsible construction.
